SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

A strong numbers person is needed to oversee the finances of a well-established, yet growing, statewide nonprofit. In 25-30 hours per week, the Senior Accountant manages and monitors the $6 million agency budget, makes entries into the General Ledger, creates monthly reports for staff and the board of directors, prepares project budgets for fund raising proposals, oversees accounts payable and cash receipts, reconciles agency bank accounts and the investment portfolio, and works with an independent auditor on the annual audit.
Must have experience in managing several fund accounts from multiple private and government funders for multiple programs as well as experience producing nonprofit GAAP statements. Minimum 5-7 years of experience required, as is a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. CPA preferred.
