Certified Athletic Trainer - School Based Department: CHN - Sports Medicine Lawrence Township Schedule: Full Time (Benefited) Shift: Days/Evenings Hours: 80 Job Details: * Bachelor's Degree * DUTIES: Will serve as an athletic trainer to support Lawrence North High School. Primary job duties include:
* Prevent, evaluate, and treat emergency, acute, and chronic injuries of student athletes.
* Recondition student athletes after injury to prevent injury recurrence, impairment, functional limitations, and disability.
* Communicate with team physician, coach, athletic director, parents, Community Health Network officials, and others to support the needs of the athletic program.
* Ensure a safe environment of athletic facilities, and maintenance of the athletic training room.
* Primary duties will mostly take place at Lawrence North High School. Some travel is required.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of three years experience as a certified athletic trainer in a school setting is required.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program in athletic training
LICENSE:
* Current Indiana license of athletic training
* Board of Certification (BOC), Inc. - Athletic Trainer Certification
SKILLS:
· Knowledgeable in anatomy/physiology, current treatment techniques and functional progressions, and current advancements and trends
· Ability to effectively provide quality care and service to appropriate patients
· Ability to communicate effectively with staff, peers, patients, families, physicians, and all internal/external customers is also required
· Ability to lift/transfer patients or treatment supply items without restriction
· Ability to organize responsibilities and to set priorities
· Ability to function independently and make independent judgment and sound decisions
· Ability to communicate professionally, effectively and compassionately, both verbally and in writing, with athletes, patients, coaches, family members, physicians, other practitioners, management staff, and the community
· Ability to adapt to ever-changing work conditions
