Materials Process & Physics Engineer 1\2
Provide Electrical/Electronic Parts, Materials and Processes engineering support to Puget Sound area programs. The successful candidate will provide input into the control of Electrical/Electronic Parts, Materials and Processes (PM&P) used in the design, fabrication and production of electrical/electronic boxes, circuit card assemblies, circuit card boards and interconnect systems. Support the development and implementation of program M&P control plans/schedules and review and approve plans from subcontractors and suppliers. Select EE PM&P and review part/material usage within engineering documents and drawings and evaluate against contractual requirements. Support the reduction of hazardous materials while maintaining product reliability.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Collects information and assists with the definition of requirements for materials, parts and processes used in the manufacture of products. Incorporates changes to specifications and other documents. Support and or perform qualification tests for new materials, parts and processes to meet requirements. Assists with activities to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements. Conducts basic analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials, parts or processes. Assists in implementing corrective and preventive actions. Works under close to general supervision.

Typical Education/Experience
Level 1 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience.
