NonDestructive Test Quality Specialist 1\2

Support the Advance Development Composite (ADC) in the accomplishment of developmental product design evolution and limited production activities. Perform setup for specialized ultra-sonic nondestructive test or measurement equipment. Develop procedures and processes for multiple types of automated and manual ultra-sonic test equipment for use in the assessment of a wide range of composite detail parts and assemblies. Perform tests or inspections and collect data to establish the compliance of these products with existing engineering design/ process requirements as well as working with design Engineering in establishing requirements for products/ processes intended for military, space and commercial airplane usage. Document, analyze and communicate results using a variety of computing resources. Assist with corrective action recommendations by using established experience in the manufacturing processes related to aerospace fabrication and assembly of composite products. Detect and provide feedback on adverse trends identified in the course of conducting normal ultrasonic testing activities. Responsible for nondestructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products. Conduct certification preparation training. Accomplish calibration and certification of ultrasonic testing equipment.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration

Do you have or have you had a Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) Level 2 certification or equivalent (i.e., NDI trade school certification or military NDI certification)?

Typical Education/Experience
Level 1 - AA degree in related discipline. Level 2 - AA degree in related discipline and typically 1 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Job related information
Requires successful completion of a company sponsored, on-hours training program. In the event you do not pass this training, the result may be reassignment, reclassification or termination of employment. Must be able to pass required vision test (corrective lenses allowed). Technical School NDI Course or Military NDI certification (or equivalent) would be considered equivalent to AA degree in terms of the Typical Education And/Or Experience required for this position. Must currently hold or have previously held a NDI Level 2 certification, with documented hours, in Ultrasonic testing methods (prefer related to composite products), Radiographic and Eddy Current testing methods. Familiar with composite manufacturing and inspection processes, including nonconformance processing systems. Capable of reading and interpreting drawings and engineering specifications. Work may involve lifting, bending and working in limited/enclosed work areas. Puget Sound work location will be determined based on organizational needs. Team is transitioning to Boeing Commercial Airplanes and will continue to be chartered with design development support along with emergent manufacturing requirements.
