What you'll do:
Oversee and

control the activities of all personnel within the Shipping organization. The

main functions are: 1) Ensure that all freight is shipped to the correct

destination; 2) Ensure that all outbound shipments are processed and loaded, in

accordance with daily priorities; 3) Ensure that the billing from our carriers

is correct; 4) Ensure that all orders shipped are closed and ship confirmed; 5)

Ensure that appropriate communication channels exist, and are utilized, to

notify other shifts of end of day status of assigned priorities; 5) Communicate

with all supervisors at start of shift to ensure that all shift priorities are

clearly understood, and that conflicting priorities are addressed to ensure

efficiency of operations; 5) Advise management of problems that adversely

affect the timely shipment of customer orders; 8) Working with the Shipping

Manager, implement a performance reporting system to measure the effectiveness

of the area(s) of responsibility. 6) Ensure that all additional tasks or

priorities assigned on a day to day "as needed" basis are completed in

accordance with direction lizing leads, supervise the activities of up to 20 hourly employees.
 
 
How you'll do it:
* Implement and manage the systems and procedures required to support

the functions of the organization as described above.
* Train personnel in appropriate material handling and inventory

control procedures. Assure that all personnel are trained in the use of

theWMSand follow all

applicable procedures.
* Cross train personnel so that all may support any function within

the Shipping Department.
* Evaluate job performance of workforce.
* Ensure that goals for productivity and quality are maintained.
* Working with the Shipping Manager, adjust staffing assignments

based on performance standards and workload.
* Assist in developing methods to meet and exceed production

standards.
* Identify opportunities for improvement in group performance.
* Responsible for the training and development of new hires.
* Interact effectively with other department supervisors and managers

to ensure company goals are achieved.
 
 
What you'll need:
·        Good

management and training skills.
·        Good

written and oral communication skills, must be able to read, write and

understand English
* Must be proficient in Excel and Outlook
* Experience with PKMS and Oracle a plus
 
 
What you've done:
* High school diploma or equivalent, advance training or education

preferred
·        Three

years warehouse supervisory experience, preferably in an automated warehouse

setting.
