Department Marketing Statement Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery at St. Vincent includes adult cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and robotic procedures. Pediatric cardiac procedures are also performed in this department. The medical surgical team is comprised of many dedicated staff members including a circulator, a scrub nurse/technologist, an anesthesiologist, a team care specialist, perfusionists, nurses and doctors. Associates in our surgery departments are committed to the highest quality surgical care and service for patients and their family. Responsibilities Manages the provision of nursing care for the surgical patient in accordance with the Indiana Nurse Practice Act and established policies, procedures and protocols of the cent Indianapolis Regional esses the patient in a systematic and organized manner. Formulates nursing diagnoses and develops plan of care. Initiates nursing actions and implements strategies to maximize patient outcomes. Delegates, supervises and/or collaborates with other members of the health care team in the delivery of safe and effective nursing care. Evaluates status of interventions and patient goals for the purpose of reassessment, revision of plan of care and discharge planning. Qualifications EDUCATION/LICENSURE Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing or enrollment in the last semester of enrollment at an accredited school of nursing. Successful candidate would be required to pass the nursing board exam and provide proof of licensure prior to start date in the position.¿ BLS Healthcare Provider required, CNOR, ACLS preferred. EXPERIENCE One year acute care or OR practicum experience required. OR experience preferred
SKILLS REQUIRED Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, the ability take appropriate action and to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
WORK SCHEDULE Full time, 37.5 hours per week, 6:30 am - 5:00pm three days a week .One 9:00am - 5:00 pm call day. (On-call rotation required, 30 minute response time required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS May include frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, prolonged period of walking, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds (lifting of patient may include assistance from team member or lift devices).
